Meeting with Felicity Buchan MP
This morning a group of Kensington Against Dirty Money supporters met with Felicity Buchan, the Member of Parliament for Kensington. We handed over our petition of over 1200 concerned British residents who want an end to dirty money.
Now, we want to ensure new legislation promised in the Queen’s Speech is as strong as possible.
That means giving new powers to Companies House, ensuring our investigators have the resources they need to go after corrupt individuals, speeding up transparency implementation in British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies, and clamping down on the professional services who too often enable dirty money, such as our banking, real estate and public relations sectors.
We also discussed Kensington’s acute need for more social housing. Tackling dirty money in luxury property must go hand-in-hand with investing more in social housing.
